About Singapore

Singapore is an island garden city teeming with multiculturalism. It is located approximately 137 kilometres north of the equator and has some 63 offshore islands. The local time here is +8GMT or eight hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. Here in Singapore, our primary mode of communication is English, and Singaporeans are also well-versed in their mother tongues. We have four major races in Singapore, namely Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian. Each community offers a different perspective of life in Singapore in terms of culture, religion, food, and language. These cultures amalgamate to a unique Singaporean culture.

Local Weather

Singapore is a tropical island near the equator; therefore, expect a warm and humid climate here. It is summer all year round and our temperature slightly varies between 32 degrees Celsius (89.6 Fahrenheit) and 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 Fahrenheit). If you enjoy the warm tropical climate and activities like sunbathing, swimming, sailing, water sports and being at the beach, Singapore is the ideal climate for that. However, for those less enthusiastic about the heat, fret not; Singapore is also largely sheltered from the sun and we have air-conditioning in almost all shops, hotels, office buildings, restaurants, and in our school.

When Singapore is not bright and sunny, the cool rainy seasons are during the monsoon season, from November to January. Expect thunderstorms and showers in Singapore to be heavy
